Most artist in today’s musical stratosphere have little growth….connecting with their fans in small doses resulting in us eventually moving on to the next. However Petersburg, Va native Tremaine Neverson has rose above the rest solidifying himself as a mainstay in the world of male R&B.

Now 6 albums deep, Trey is churning out his most personal, sex fused, baby making album to date with the arrival of Trigga. From side chicks, one night stands, and disloyal women, Trey tackles all the ramifications of your Facebook and Instagram newsfeed with 13 tracks or less….

Trey Songz does not waste anytime and goes directly to the sexual smorgasbord with Cake. As the old adage goes “You can’t have your cake and eat it too” with Songz giving a detail argument on while you can… “they say you can’t have cake and eat it too, but isn’t that what you suppose to do?” Referring to his lady and her “cakes” being on his menu of intimate choice….
…..when a rich n*gga wants you Trey Songz is expected to bag you with the Nicki Minaj assisted Touchin, Lovin, which comes off as a continuation of Chris Brown’s Loyal IMO…..elsewhere Trey and Mila J speak from the mind of the side chick/side nigga on Disrespectful, while he and Ty Dolla send out warning shots about dealing with pretty chicks on Dead Wrong……
Trigga takes the sexual shenanigans to the 305 on “All We Do” while getting Justin Beiber to bless the remix to Foreign an ode to some of the worlds most beautiful women. From getting caught cheating courtesy of a butt dial on Smartphones to feeling the brutal shade from ex-lover on “Yes, No, Maybe“, Trigga explores the true mindset of what men really experience and think even if they entertain those thoughts inside their head or on the ‘Gram for this social media generation……

Not sure where this album will rank but it sure is some of Trey’s best body of work to date which doesn’t seem forced or label driven as some of his previous releases. The growth on this album might not be in the subject matter but the willingness to speak frank and openly about ones own experiences which is a home run from where I am sitting….
